It seems the screens have intensified since the last Windows 10 updates. Users report a surge in screens that say “Get even more out of Windows”. What’s especially annoying about these nag screens is they cover the whole display. Microsoft would previously only allow these screens to appear when a machine was started or following an installation of Windows 10. Now the notifications are more apparent throughout the Windows 10 experience. Services Microsoft is pushing with the screens include OneDrive, Office, and Windows Hello. Microsoft says users should already know about this strategy as the prompts were debuted alongside Windows 10 version 1903 in May 2018.

Redmond says the screens point users towards important Windows tools that can enhance their experience. Below are the services Microsoft is advertising:

Windows Hello: The screen urges users to setup Hello to enhance security. Office 365: Download information for the cloud-based productivity suite. You Phone: Microsoft highlights how Your Phone can link an Android smartphone to a PC. OneDrive: The company’s cloud storage solution.

While you can simply skip these nag screens, they could pop back up at a later date, especially when rebooting. Luckily, you can disable the prompts by following these steps:

Head to Windows Settings Navigate to System > Notifications & actions. Uncheck the option ‘Suggest ways I can finish setting up my device to get the most out of Windows’ Windows 10 Users Complain About Surge in Service Nag Screens - 91Windows 10 Users Complain About Surge in Service Nag Screens - 20Windows 10 Users Complain About Surge in Service Nag Screens - 36Windows 10 Users Complain About Surge in Service Nag Screens - 71Windows 10 Users Complain About Surge in Service Nag Screens - 68
