Facebook is rolling out the feature starting today. Company owners or employers can create a listing as they would compose a normal status update. For visiting users, they can interact with the update as they normally would, but with one new addition....

The vulnerability let attackers remotely gain control of some devices running Intel AMT, potentially executing code or stealing data. Estimates put the number of affected servers at 7,000, but the millions of PCs that connect to those could also be at risk. Thankfully, Microsoft Surface devices aren’t one of them. In a blog post on Thursday, Redmond contractor Brandon Records reassured users: “In the beginning of May, Intel announced that a vulnerability had been detected in their Intel® Active Management Technology (AMT), available in many of their processors and chipsets including some processors and chipsets used in the Surface device lineup,” the lead of Microsoft’s outreach team explained....

In other words, shoppers value being able to easily search for products on a retail site. Bing for Commerce helps retailers maker their on-site search engines more powerful. Visual Studio for Mac Preview 4 brings new features and fixes included in Xamarin Studio 6.3. Xamarin Studio is the Integrated Development Environment (IDE) that helps users create cross-platform apps for iOS, Mac and Android. In addition, in Preview 4 the default build engine is now MSBuild, instead of xbuild, while users can specify portable and embedded compiler options in project options. Microsoft also made various optimizations, as well as improvements to memory usage and performance across the IDE....

Microsoft details the bug that has caused it to block updates on an official support page. The company explains that some apps running on the Nvidia GPU versions of the Surface Book 2 are not opening or crashing when open. Furthermore, the GPU is also not appearing in the Device Manager one some occasions, seemingly at random....

The company says “Calendar attachments are now available in Outlook. View inline images and open attachments right from the event details.” Users have been requesting this feature for a long time, mostly because it brings more power to the calendar. Indeed, people have been asking for this ability since the end of 2015. Naturally, since then Microsoft has updated Outlook on iOS and Android many times but has overlooked attachment viewing....

At its core, the latest update for the app simply brings improved sharing controls to OneDrive. By offering more granular settings, users can control their sharing experience across some of Microsoft’s core products. For example, it is possible to share files to people and organizations directly from OneDrive. The update is already up and running on Android, while it will come to iOS soon. By heading to insider.microsoft.com, users can now see a simple website that presents all preview services. Users can select a program by clicking it corresponding icon. In case you are unfamiliar with what’s on offer, there are programs for Windows, Edge, Office, Bing, Skype, Xbox, and Visual Studio. It is now officially spring north of the equator, which means Microsoft’s Spring Hardware event is coming soon. It is worth mentioning before continuing that the company has not officially announced such an event. So, we are firmly in the land of speculation here as there is at least a possibility that Microsoft will not launch any Surface product this spring. This hardware launch has been long rumored, however, and where there’s smoke… Mary Jo Foley at ZDNet has plugged into her sources and understands the Surface Book 2 will not be at the event....

Microsoft was certainly ready to pull the trigger on the Spring Update. The company released the RTM (release to manufacturing) build on the Insider Program release preview branch last week. In other words, it was all good to go and would be rolled out on Patch Tuesday. By the way, I am still running with the Spring Creators Update or Spring Update names for Version 1803. Microsoft has not officially announced the official name, so I stand to be corrected on this matter....

Specifically, the company is sending out Windows Preview Build 17004 for PC today. If you are unfamiliar with Skip Ahead, it was launched in July and added a new branch to the Windows Insider Program. It allows users to jump forward to build ahead of the next Windows 10 release. At this moment, that means Insiders on Skip Ahead can preview Redstone 4. Microsoft is currently developing Redstone 3, which most people know as the Fall Creators Update....

If you’re unfamiliar with Windows Core OS (WCOS), it is a modular version of Windows 10. By creating a modular Windows experience, Microsoft can put the full power of Windows 10 on any device. WCOS will provide Microsoft with a platform that will work on mobile devices and PCs alike. Users on smartphones will be able to receive a full Windows 10 PC-quality experience. As the platform would be expanding across form factors, it makes sense some aspects of Windows 10 will look different....

That is certainly a benefit that has quickly proved itself and developers seem to be taking notice. Indeed, there are now 1,200 extensions in the Edge Addons Store. It is worth noting this does not mean the number of Chrome extensions available (more on that shortly), but rather the number of dedicated Addons. This partnership once again extends Microsoft’s Airband initiative, which aims to leverage TV White Space (unlicensed spectrum) to bring internet to low-served areas. Nextlink will work with Microsoft following being awarded a $281 million grant from the Federal Communications Commission in August. The company is part of 103 companies that have been awarded a share of $1.9bn over the next 10 years from the Connect America Fund (CAF) II rural broadband program....
