This comes right from the top, with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella saying the following: “We’re adding new gamers to our ecosystem, as we execute on our ambition to reach players wherever and whenever they want, on any device. We saw usage growth across all platforms, driven by strength off-console. PC Game Pass subscriptions increased 159 percent year over year. And with Cloud Gaming, we’re transforming how games are distributed, played, and viewed. More than 20 million people have used the service to stream games to date.”
Success
The insight was provided during Microsoft’s Fiscal Year 2023 First Quarter Earnings call. However, what exactly does that magic 20 million number mean? Well, it is hard to say because Nadella (obviously intentionally) did not say 20 million active users. Instead, he specifically says 20 million have used Xbox Cloud Gaming at some point. Even so, that is a lot considering game streaming remains a relatively new service (out of preview for only a year). It is also worth noting growth seems to be consistent. In April, Microsoft said there had been 10 million users of Xbox Cloud Gaming. Tip of the day: When Windows 10 or Windows 11 has issues, it’s not rare to run into startup problems. Corrupted Windows files, incorrect system configuration, driver failure, or registry tweaks can all cause this issue. Using Windows startup repair can fix boot issues caused by the most prevalent issues. Though it may seem that all is lost when you run into startup problems, it’s important to try a Windows boot repair so you can at least narrow down the source of the issue. If it doesn’t work, you may have to reinstall the OS or test your hardware.
