Specifically, the Windows Search tool in Windows 10 now has direct links to COVID-19 news and information from MSN and Bing. Powered by Bing, Windows users can now tap directly into the Bing coronavirus interactive map. Alternatively, you can select the headlines button to be taken to MSN (Microsoft News) to see the latest news on COVID-19. Of course, both links will open into your chosen web browser. Microsoft says the update for Windows was completed on the server side. This means it is automatically baked into Windows 10 without the need of a download or update. According to Microsoft, the new Windows Search feature is available for users of Windows 10 October 2019 Update or newer.

Interactive Map

Last month as the coronavirus pandemic kicked into full gear, Microsoft debuted a COVID-19 Bing Interactive Map. On the Bing Maps, users can view various aspects of the outbreak, including cases per country, currently active cases, recovered cases, and fatalities. In the United States, the interactive map offers more granular controls, such as state-by-state information. Users can do deeper dives into individual countries or states. When a nation is selected, Bing search will surface news stories and videos related to COVID-19 from that country.
